Value Care Health Systems, Inc. was established in June 1997 by a group of doctors headed by Dr. Charles C. Chante. A wholly owned Filipino corporation in the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) industry, ValuCare started with an initial complement of 30 employees, setting up its office at the 14th floor of the prestigious Philippine Stock Exchange Center at the Ortigas Business District, Pasig City. It was an auspicious start for a company that held as its principle the commitment to provide “Quality Healthcare With Compassion”. Blessing of the new ValuCare office was presided by no less than His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin himself.
As a new player in the industry, ValuCare was able to make a name for itself in a relatively short period of time. Several prestigious clients placed their trust and confidence in the new company, and made the right decision. Max’s Restaurant, Philippine Seven Corporation, Philippine Bank of Communications, Geologistics Inc. and Lamoiyan Corporation are some of the companies that joined ValuCare in 1998, and are still maintaining their confidence with the company.

Over the years, several milestones are notable in ValuCare’s journey to establishing itself as an industry leading and stable Health Maintenance Organization :

By the year 1999, after only 2 and half years of operations, ValuCare achieved its status as a Top 5000 Corporation, ranked 4,847 in the Top 5000 Corporations listing of the Philippine Business Profiles (2000-2001 edition)
By 2003, ValuCare achieves its status as a Top 2000 Corporation, ranked 1,894 in the Top 5000 Corporations listing of the Philippine Business Profiles (2004-2005 edition)
ValuCare owns the distinction of being the very first HMO to be chosen by the U.S. Embassy, Manila to provide a comprehensive health care program for their more than 1,000 employees and 3,000 dependents nationwide
The only HMO to provide home-service and office-service laboratory services through its Personalized Access to Laboratory Service or PALS
The very first HMO that was approved and contracted for accreditation by the Asian Hospital
ValuCare took the lead in implementing and maintaining an on-line network based electronic ID verification system, a 24-hour ‘swipe’ system in partnership with Medilink, a company under the Equitable Bank Group that provides the same system for VISA and MASTERCARD
Presently, ValuCare is servicing more than 100,000 planholders comprising its individual, family, group and more than 500 corporate accounts nationwide. ValuCare has expanded its offices to accommodate its present compliment of 121 employees. Branch offices have been opened in Cebu, Iloilo and Davao. The head office in the PSEC Pasig presently occupies more than half a wing of that prestigious address, with further expansion in progress.
